DCN/IUG Social Media Class on Tue., Sept 28.
DCN, in collaboration with the Internet Users Group, will offer a class on social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter). The class is open to anyone who is interested regardless of age or level of expertise. Time: 7:00-8:30 p.m. Location: Davis Senior Center, 646 A Street.
This class will offer an overview of today's popular social media -- in particular Facebook and Twitter. We will discuss how individuals and organizations are using social media to increase awareness for their causes, inform and educate their communities, and enhance advocacy efforts. We will also discuss issues related to privacy, and how to set limits on how personal information is shared on social networking websites. This will be a presentation with live demonstrations in actual social networking accounts. Feel free to bring your laptops and your questions!
