Take the time to unsubscribe rather than label legitimate email as spam

When you report a mailing as spam, that means that not only do you not want this, but nobody else should either. This could negatively impact many others who want and need the mail.

Congratulations! Last spring your child finished elementary school, or junior high, or high school.

That means that you won't be interested any longer in the e-mail bulletins from the school or PTA. But, please don't push that spam button on your email reader!

When you report a mailing as spam, that means that not only do you not want this, but nobody else should either.   It's easy to unsubscribe.

Unfortunately, if this year is like past years, hundreds of Davis folks will report PTA and school mailings as spam. The result may be that thousands more don't get timely notices they want while their email provider blocks these mailings due to spam reports.

Instead, take a deep breath. Exhale and look to the bottom of the message. There you'll find instructions on unsubscribing or how to find a listinfo page from which you may unsubscribe. If you can't find that information, visit http://mailman.dcn.org/listinfo and look for your list.

You may not want that email any longer, but others still need it. Take the time to unsubscribe.

Thank you!
