Davis Community Network is actively seeking new board members

DCN strives to have a board that represents the entire community. People with or without technical backgrounds are encouraged to join.

In its’ most ambitious undertaking to date, Davis Community Network is working in conjunction with DavisGig and the city’s Broadband Advisory Task Force toward the goal of creating a community-owned ultra-fast fiber-optic network. Such a network will provide for all of the educational, governmental, business and private needs of Davis. A community owned network will also provide more control over content and privacy.

DCN was founded nearly 25 years ago as the first internet service provider in Davis. Incorporated in 1996 as a 501© (3), DCN has worked to enhance the power of the internet on behalf of the entire community by partnering with local schools and community groups, as well as by providing networking services to the city and county.

We encourage anyone who might be interested in joining the DCN board at this this exciting juncture, to attend a meeting of the Broadband Advisory Taskforce and to visit Davis Community Network and DavisGIG on Facebook and their websites for more information. Or contact Davis Community Network at admin@dcn.org.  DCN strives to have a board that represents the entire community, so people without (or with) technical backgrounds are encouraged to join.
